Simulation methods for evaluating the mechanical behavior of products subjected to static and dynamic loads are extremely necessary to reduce manufacturing costs. The use of mechanical and virtual tests is of vital importance for product evaluation. This study aimed to apply fuzzy logic to a product called the bicycle fork steerer tube, analyzing both the degree of membership varying between 0 and 1 and the degree of truth also varying between 0 and 1, with the main focus on the behavior of the steerer tube and its validation.Item A Construção das Usinas no Rio Madeira em Rondônia e os Impactos no Município de Porto Velho: Uma Abordagem Socioeconômica e Ambiental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013) ROCHA, Gilberto de Miranda; BRITO, Sâmia de Oliveira; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThis article seeks to present, among the various impacts, especially the socioeconomic and environmental ones caused by the construction of the Santo Antônio and Jirau Hydroelectric Plants in the State of Rondônia, as well as to measure the positive and negative aspects pointed out in the capital Porto Velho, following their respective installations. During the research, some important aspects previously analyzed in the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) of these plants will also be discussed, where the RIMA (Environmental Impact Report) later confirms that the implementation and operation of the plants generate significant environmental damage, although the report mentions that these impacts are repairable through compensation for the social, economic, and environmental development of the region.Item A Falha da Utilização do Ciclo de Deming no Monitoramento dos Processos em uma Indústria Metalúrgica(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) ALBUQUERQUE, Ananélia Claudia Rodrigues de Queiroz; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes; OLIVEIRA, Rosimeire Freires Pereira; OLIVEIRA, Sidney dos Santos; Eduardo de Magalhães BragaThe study examines the application of the Deming Cycle (PDCA) in monitoring the production processes of a metallurgical company in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). Through direct observation, questionnaires, and interviews, it was found that although the PDCA is used in strategic planning, its monitoring phase (Check) is not effectively implemented, leading to high rates of defective parts and increased production costs. The research emphasizes the need for rigorous follow-up of PDCA stages to ensure continuous improvements and operational efficiency.Item A Gestão de Recursos Hídricos: A Política Nacional de Recursos Hídricos X Prosamim(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) BRITO, Sâmia de Oliveira; ROCHA, Gilberto de Miranda; LEITE, Jandecy CabralWhen addressing the issues of Prosamim, its main objective, which is the revitalization of the igarapés (streams) areas in the city of Manaus/AM, can be exposed. Within this context, the specific objectives of the program can also be determined, divided into four dimensions: social, engineering, environmental, and institutional. Each dimension presents its relevance to the program, as well as shows, based on records during technical visits, the needs for its development throughout all phases of the program, which will be listed in the course of the article. Optimization methods such as Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP), Simulated Annealing (SA), Differential Evolution (DE), Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Genetic Algorithms (GA), among others, are discussed. The goal is to reduce the number of operator absences due to occupational diseases, such as RSI/WMSD, caused by repetitive efforts and inadequate postures. Automation was implemented to improve the ergonomic conditions of workstations and increase production. The study shows that automation reduces costs related to absences and increases production efficiency.Item Acúmulo de Materiais Orgânicos nas Estruturas Navais dos Terminais Hidroviários de Manicoré, Parintins, Manacapuru e Humaitá no Estado do Amazonas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) HARTZ, Alessandra Guimarães; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; ROCHA, Gilberto de Miranda; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; NASCIMENTO, Manoel Henrique ReisThis study aimed to diagnose the causes of the recurring problem of organic material accumulation in the naval structures of the waterway terminals in Manacapuru, Humaitá, Parintins, and Manicoré, in the state of Amazonas. The study identified that the problem occurs because the project designs do not consider the fluvial water system and the geography of the region. During the flood season, the accumulation of organic matter in the terminal structures causes environmental and operational damage. The methodology used was bibliographic and documentary research, with a case study. High fuel costs and strict environmental regulations have increased the demand for this technology in the civil sector. This article presents the application advantages of composites in aircraft structures, especially regarding weight reduction, lower operational costs, and environmental, social, and economic impacts. The geodesic dome is a structure composed of bars and nodes arranged along the edges and vertices of a polyhedron inscribed on a spherical surface. The proposed algorithm is based on the review and compilation of information from various researches, aiming to generate a geometric model for further resistance analysis by the finite element method. Steps, resources, and/or supplies that have the greatest impacts during the life cycle of electricity generation are identified to contribute with measures of cleaner production in companies with similar power generation. The goal of this study is to evaluate the environmental impacts associated with the production of 1552 kWh of electricity by gas-HFO internal combustion engines, considering a scenario that responds to the use of lubricating oil, oily water treatment, collection, and transportation of sludge. The study applied the PDCA method to identify and resolve issues related to insufficient solder barrel filling. In the case of metallurgic industries, their working conditions are not suitable due to a series of factors, such as exposure to high temperatures, which cannot be cooled, creating adverse conditions like thermal shock and fatigue. This paper's general goal is to describe the importance of preserving workers' mental and physical health in the workplace through ergonomics. Through research, analysis, and reporting procedures, it became possible to examine suggestions for reducing the problem that was addressed in this study. The main objective is to analyze the situation of the ergonomic product line focusing on the biomechanics of the work. The reason is because of the large outflow of workers due to health problems related to ergonomics, as one of the main problems they face is with handling and moving heavy loads, is the back pain, drifting in acute and chronic problems. The PDCA method was employed to implement improvements, leading to reduced fatigue complaints and increased productivity. Workers often end up performing repetitive tasks with unfavorable postures and excessive force. This article analyzes an ergonomic flaw in the test cabin of a production line at TAM company and proposes workstation adaptations to minimize repetitive stress and improve worker health. The developed methodology aims to optimize performance and introduce improvements in the energy generation process, based on a case study conducted at an Eletrobrás Amazonas Energia plant. Using power quality analyzers and decision tree techniques, the work quantifies the total harmonic distortion (THD) and identifies the most impactful harmonics, such as the 5th and 7th orders, generated by non-linear loads. Monthly sales data over 36 months (2010-2012) were analyzed, identifying additive seasonality patterns. The model was evaluated using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) and Theil's U coefficient, demonstrating forecasting efficacy and emphasizing the importance of error analysis for continuous improvements.
