OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de2025-03-132015https://rigalileo.itegam.org.br/handle/123456789/621Adhesive mortars represent up to a quarter of the weight of a building and about 6% of the total cost of a building, thus occupying an important part in the budget of every work. The masonry settlement executed in the traditional way still causes extensive damage of material, labor, and logistics. This research aims to propose a new alternative to the masonry settlement, with the use of prefabricated non-cementitious mortar. A case study was followed in a building with identical floors, where some were executed with conventional mortar and the rest with dry mortar. All members of the executive chain were observed, from the purchase of materials, preparation, and transport of mortar to the place of use, as well as their execution and productivity. Physical aspects of these technologies and cost analysis were also analyzed. It was found that the non-cementitious ready-made mortar presented several advantages over conventional mortar, such as increased productivity, cost reduction, and greater logistical ease.
