OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de2025-03-132015https://rigalileo.itegam.org.br/handle/123456789/655This study investigates the technical feasibility of using waste generated in the production of red ceramic artifacts (bricks and tiles) as coarse aggregate in Portland cement concrete. The research proposes the partial or total replacement of natural coarse aggregate with red ceramic waste (RCV), aiming to reduce environmental impact and provide a more noble destination for these residues. Material characterization tests, analysis of concrete properties in both fresh and hardened states, and compressive strength evaluation were conducted. The results indicate that replacing up to 20% of natural coarse aggregate with RCV maintains concrete strength close to conventional concrete, while higher replacements result in significant reductions in strength.
