OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de2025-03-172015https://rigalileo.itegam.org.br/handle/123456789/715This paper addresses the environmental impacts caused by the lack of sanitation, such as the final destination of waste, contamination of the water table, and diseases resulting from poor sanitation in the municipality of Jutaí-AM. A survey was conducted on the daily collection of garbage in Jutaí-AM, as well as an approach to waterborne diseases. It was found that the landfill is located in the urban area, causing degradation to the city's environment. The garbage is dumped in the middle of the city without any treatment, including medical waste, which is disposed of in the same location as domestic waste. The place where the garbage is deposited is frequented daily by various people, including children and the elderly.
