This study aimed to analyze the environmental parameters of the surface waters of the Tarumã-Açu Igarape stream in the city of Manaus, in view of the growing changes they have been undergoing due to the influence of man on these environments. The research was conducted at the Tarumã-Açu Igarape, located in the Tarumã neighborhood in the west of Manaus. The physicochemical variables were analyzed pH, water temperature, electrical conductivity, turbidity, ammonia nitrogen, dissolved oxygen and bacteriological analyzes (total and thermotolerant coliforms). The results indicated a high level of water pollution, especially in the urban area, with pH values below the recommended, high electrical conductivity, elevated turbidity, and significant presence of coliforms.
