Pompeu Neto, Bernardo Borges2025-03-172015https://rigalileo.itegam.org.br/handle/123456789/704The authorization for the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Project (AHE) sparked adverse reactions in a society skeptical of the socio-environmental impacts of similar projects. This study analyzes compliance with environmental conditions and their relation to the project's environmental feasibility, reviewing concepts of development and sustainability. The Critical Theory methodology was employed to contrast facts and dominant discourses on development strategies. Results showed non-compliance with conditions, weak environmental management, and the prioritization of economic development over the right to an ecologically balanced environment, as well as the project's connection to mineral exploration in the Amazon.AHE Belo MonteDesenvolvimentoSustentabilidadeExploração MineralViabilidade AmbientalAtendimento às Condicionantes e Viabilidade Ambiental do AHE Belo Montepdf.Engenharias; Ciências Ambientais
