In hydroelectric power plants, they are essential for cooling key components, employing open cooling systems that draw water directly from reservoirs. However, this method can lead to fouling buildup, reducing equipment efficiency and impacting productivity. This study evaluated whether the application of an automated mechanical cleaning process could minimize or eliminate efficiency loss in heat exchangers used in hydro generator cooling systems.
