Revista SODEBRAS, v. 10, n. 113, p. 89-93, maio 2015.https://rigalileo.itegam.org.br/handle/123456789/1019The study evaluated the influence of effluent generated by the Manauara Thermoelectric Power Plant (UTE) in Manaus/AM on the São João community stream. Parameters such as Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) were analyzed to determine the effluent's biodegradability and the efficiency of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETE). Results showed that the ETE complies with CONAMA 430/2011, with removal rates exceeding 60%. The shift to natural gas (NG) as an energy source improved effluent quality, and the COD/BOD ratio indicated significant biodegradability in the stream.
