Dissertação (Mestrado em Engenharia de Processos) – Universidade Federal do Pará, Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018.https://rigalileo.itegam.org.br/handle/123456789/834The effects of a Low Concentration Sugar Solution (SBCA), extracted from the mandiocaba bag in natura, as co-plasticizers in combination with glycerol were investigated for the production of thermoplastic starch (TPS) by the casting method, from the starch of mandiocaba and commercial cassava starch. The results were compared to the TPSs produced with water and glycerol, also investigated. Glycerol was reduced to 50% and 25%, substituting water for SBCA. Samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) after 15 days of aging, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), tensile strength (RT), elongation at break (ER), and water vapor permeability (PVA).
