One of the most used strategies nowadays to reduce waste in production processes and consequently increase added value is the Lean Production System (LPS) application, also known as lean manufacturing. The objective of this study is to show the benefits of some lean tools applications in a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) process in an electro-electronic industry at Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). The case study methodology was used, oriented by the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) tool.
