About the methodology, it is a case study carried out at the State Maternity Balbina Mestrinho (MEBM), located in the city of Manaus, which made it possible to reach the objectives of this dissertation. It is expected that the results of this dissertation can contribute to the area of RSS management, with MEBM's PGRSS being a reference for other health units in the city of Manaus, raising awareness of the need to be permanently improving by through a critical and alert vision, elaborating and producing the necessary knowledge so that the conditions of the safety of the patients and the collaborators in this health unit and of other health institutions in the city of Manaus can be modified. This dissertation also aims to establish standardized actions based on the implementation of improvements within the MEBM, to promote the correct actions of its employees in the context of their activities provided within the maternity, for the adequate allocation of solid waste, in accordance with current legislation at the federal, state and municipal levels, in order to minimize environmental impacts and for society as a whole.pdf.Resíduos sólidosSaúdeMaternidadePlanoGerenciamentoDissertaçãoCiências Ambientais
