    Application of renewable energy sources in hospital services

    This study proposes a thermal solar system for water heating at the "José Luis Miranda" Pediatric Teaching Hospital in Santa Clara, Cuba, aiming to improve energy efficiency and service quality. The methodology followed international guidelines (RETScreen, SODEAN, Swisscontact) and specialized software. The system, with an initial investment of US$ 37,200, yields an annual electric energy saving of 190 MWh and reduces greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 440 barrels of crude oil not consumed.
