    CIDADES INTELIGENTES: PRINCIPAIS RANKINGS E PROPOSTAS DE MELHORIA PARA SÃO LUÍS, MARANHÃO

    The concept of smart city has been spread as an adequate place for people to live, where technological resources cooperate with each other to generate well-being, social inclusion, and participation of its inhabitants, in addition to the sustainability of the environment. This work analyzes the main rankings that measure the conditions of cities and classifies them as to the position between smart cities, aiming at improvement proposals for the city of São Luís, facing the reality of these cities, seeking quality of life, sustainability, and respect for the environment. The city of Curitiba is used as a national reference, considered first in 2018 in the Connected Smart Cities Ranking, while São Luís was not among the analyzed positions. An intervention plan is proposed to make São Luís more competitive in terms of urban mobility, environment, health, technology and innovation, and security.
