    Concretos fabricados com agregados graúdos disponíveis em Santarém e região oeste do Pará

    Abstract: The specification of concrete projects with greater resistance and stricter quality control arises in Santarém, resulting from a booming construction market. However, the city still lacks specific knowledge of the mechanical properties of locally manufactured concrete, as well as the suitability of this material to the aggregates available in the region. This work aims to conduct a comparative study between the different coarse aggregates available in Santarém, focusing on structural concrete production. Three water/cement ratios (0.74, 0.54, and 0.41) were defined for concrete production, along with the use of three types of coarse aggregates: gravel, pebble, and quebradinho. The concretes were analyzed for their properties in the fresh state (slump, cohesion, and water consumption) and in the hardened state (compressive strength, tensile strength by diametrical compression, tensile strength in bending, and modulus of elasticity). Lower water consumption was observed with the use of pebble, and higher final strengths were achieved for concretes produced with gravel. A comparative analysis of input costs showed the economic advantage of using quebradinho for 20 and 30 MPa concretes. It is concluded that the aggregates available in the Santarém-PA region are viable for concrete production.

Gravel, pebble, and quebradinho were tested with three water/cement ratios (0.74, 0.54, and 0.41). Results showed lower water consumption with pebble and higher final strengths with gravel. A cost analysis highlighted the economic advantage of quebradinho for 20 and 30 MPa concretes. Findings support the feasibility of using local aggregates in concrete production.
