Desenvolvimento de um Sistema de Baixo Custo para Monitoramento da Qualidade do Ar Usando Tecnologia Embarcada
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) MELLO, José Carlos Nunes de; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
The objective of this work was to develop a low-cost system for monitoring air quality using embedded technology, focusing on the use of the Arduino UNO board for Environmental Monitoring. Commercially available sensors were used, including the DHT11 temperature sensor, BMP180 atmospheric pressure sensor, MICS 2614 ozone sensor, MICS 2714 nitrogen dioxide sensor, MQ-7 carbon monoxide sensor and PM2.5 PPD42 NS particle sensor. The methodology included a literature review on air pollution and Arduino UNO technologies, in addition to the construction and testing of a functional prototype, composed of sensors, a micro SD reader module, an LCD display and a contact matrix, interconnected to the Arduino board. The research was classified as experimental and applied. Of the six indicators proposed, only the NO2 and particulate matter data could not be compared to those of a professional station due to technical failures in the latter's meters. The results showed that the use of Arduino for air quality monitoring provides a more affordable solution than conventional instruments, ensuring a satisfactory level of reliability, practicality and flexibility. The study also identified challenges faced during implementation and proposed improvements and recommendations for future research in the area of atmospheric sensing. It is concluded that the developed system demonstrated viability and met the established objectives.
