Item Análise da Eficiência Energética dos Sistemas de Climatização Centralizada: Estudo de Caso no Polo Industrial de Manaus(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) WADA, João Koyty Oji; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano MoyaThis dissertation examines the energy efficiency of centralized air conditioning systems in an industry at the Industrial Polo of Manaus (PIM), comparing direct expansion (air) and indirect expansion (water) equipment. The study shows that replacing screw chillers with centrifugal chillers reduces electricity consumption by up to 40%, with a quick return on investment (payback).Item Comparação do Impacto Ambiental duma Usina Elétrica quando Utiliza Motores de Óleo Combustível Pesado e quando Utiliza Motores a Gás(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2013) SILVA, Wagner Ferreira; CAMPOS, Lucila Maria de Souza; MIGUEL, Paulo Augusto Cauchick; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano Moya; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; MAGALHÃES, Edilson MarquesThe study compares the environmental impact of a power plant in the Brazilian Amazon when using heavy fuel oil (HFO) engines and natural gas engines. It analyzes emissions of pollutants such as CO, CO₂, NOx, SOx, and particulate matter, noting that gas engines emit less NOx and SOx but more CO and CO₂ per unit of power supplied.Item Desenvolvimento de um Modelo Matemático para a Avaliação da Eficiência da Combustão em Usinas Termoelétricas Operando com Gás e Alternando com Diesel(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) AZEVEDO, Manoel S. Santos; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano Moya; RICO, Iván Leandro Rodriguez; DÍAZ, Pablo Romélio Roque; GOMES, Paulo Cezar Rocha.; Prof Dr. Walter Barra JuniorThe article presents a mathematical model developed to evaluate combustion efficiency in thermoelectric power plants operating with natural gas (NG) and alternating with diesel (HFO). The study was conducted in a plant transitioning to dual-fuel use, aiming to optimize energy efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions. The model covers stoichiometric, thermodynamic, and kinetic aspects of combustion, implemented in software for real-time analysis. Results demonstrated the model's feasibility in predicting engine performance and optimizing specific fuel consumption, with practical applications in plant operation.Item Diferentes métodos para a análise da previsão do índice de emissões de uma usina geradora de eletricidade(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2014) GOMES, Paulo Cesar Rocha; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano Moya; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral.; MAGALHÃES, Edilson MarquesThe study evaluated different methods for forecasting the emission index of a thermoelectric power plant, using data from 2001 to 2013 and projecting values until 2020. The ARIMA, exponential, and logarithmic methods were applied, supported by tools such as Excel and SPSS20. Results showed that the ARIMA method provides more accurate forecasts for long and well-behaved time series, while linear and logarithmic methods are suitable for clear growth or decline trends. The study concluded that the choice of method depends on data characteristics and analysis objectives.Item MINIMIZAÇÃO DOS CUSTOS DE PRODUÇÃO NOS PROCESSOS DE OBTENÇÃO DE POLPA DE FRUTAS USANDO O SOFTWARE GAMS(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) BARBOSA, Jucilene Vieira; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano MoyaThis work proposes a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) mathematical model for production scheduling in fruit pulp processing using GAMS software. The goal is to minimize total processing time and production costs, such as transportation and overtime, by optimizing the sequence of four tasks across three processors. The model implementation showed significant reductions in operational costs, enhancing production efficiency.Item Redução do Custo e Ganho Financeiro com a Diminuição do Tempo de Setup: Estudo de Caso em Injetoras de 800 Toneladas(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) SOUZA, Elcimar Corrêa de; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano MoyaThis study presents a procedure to reduce setup time in 800-ton injection molding machines at a company in the Manaus Industrial Hub, using the SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) method. The research shows that reducing setup time to less than 15 minutes, combined with a continuous improvement system, led to financial gains exceeding R$ 200,000.00, along with improvements in productivity, quality, and safety.
