Item Incorporação Parcial de Lodo Químico como Matéria Prima na Fabricação de Tijolos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) SOUZA, Márcia Regina Monteiro de; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de MacedoThe residue called "chemical sludge" is generated after treatment of industrial effluents of the production process painting on metal surfaces, specifically the so-called dehydration and compaction phase through the filter press in a electronics industry located in the Industrial Pole of Manaus - PIM. Most of the time, the final destination of the waste is incineration or landfills, but as allocation alternative, the incorporation of this material in manufacturing ceramic brick has become economically viable and less harmful to the environment. This research presents a re-use alternative chemical sludge residue, in order to incorporate in the manufacture of ceramic bricks. The merger is to add 5% of the waste chemical sludge to the clay material used as raw material in the manufacture of ceramic blocks (bricks), aimed at reducing costs and environmental risks arising from the disposal of this waste; while minimizing environmental impacts from the extraction of raw materials directly from the environment. The results of this study allow us to conclude that the amount of 5% of chemical sludge incorporated in clay for the brick manufacturing does not affect the product quality, recommended its use in ceramic block.
