Análise dos Impactos Harmônicos em uma Indústria de Manufatura de Eletroeletrônicos Utilizando Árvores de Decisão
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) NOGUEIRA, Rildo de Mendonça; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima
Power Quality (PQ) is constantly the subject of studies, especially in the industrial sector, where large loads of electrical systems are concentrated. With the evolution of industrial processes and the introduction of new technologies, electronic equipment that generates disturbances in the systems has been added, affecting the quality of electricity. This work analyzes the harmonic impacts in an electronics manufacturing industry in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM), using data mining techniques and decision trees to monitor and diagnose coupling points and processes that present significant harmonic content. The objective is to identify and quantify the levels of harmonic distortions, avoiding regulatory penalties and improving the quality of electrical energy.

Avaliação da Distorção Harmônica Total de Tensão no Ponto de Acoplamento Comum Industrial Usando o Processo KDD Baseado em Medição
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018) OLIVEIRA, Edson Farias de; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima
In recent decades, the transformation industry has introduced increasingly faster and more energy-efficient products for residential, commercial, and industrial use. However, these loads, due to their non-linearity, have significantly contributed to increased voltage harmonic distortion levels, according to Power Quality indicators. This thesis proposes a procedure based on the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) process to identify impactful loads on voltage harmonic distortions at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC). The methodology involves data collection and analysis with data mining techniques such as Decision Tree and Naïve Bayes applied to data collected by quality meters installed at the main loads and the PCC of an industrial consumer. The process includes data collection, cleaning, transformation, and evaluation steps. The results showed that the KDD process is applicable in analyzing Total Harmonic Distortion of Voltage, allowing the identification of the most impactful loads, with the most significant being the seventh current harmonic of the air conditioning units.

Frequency scan on a phase-coordinates frame for unbalanced systems
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2012) LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; ABRIL, Ignacio Pérez; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; OLIVEIRA, Roberto Célio Limão de; Prof Dr. Walter Barra Junior
This paper presents a method for analyzing unbalanced electric networks using the frequency scan technique in a phase-coordinates frame. The developed model accurately represents unbalanced networks, such as distribution systems with asymmetric transformer banks, single-phase loads, and non-linear elements. The method is implemented in Matlab and tested on a four-wire delta system, demonstrating its effectiveness in identifying resonances and analyzing harmonics.

Harmonic Impact analysis coming from the manufacturing processes of a Eletroeletrônica Industry Using KDD and Decision Trees
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) NOGUEIRA, Rildo de Mendonça; OLIVEIRA, Edson Farias de; SILVA, Waterloo Ferreira da; SANTANA, Ádamo L.; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; SOARES, Thiago Mota; Profa. Dra. Maria Adrina Paixão de Souza da Silva.
The study analyzes the impact of harmonic distortions generated by non-linear loads (computers, notebooks, and tablets) on the electrical grid of an electronics industry in Manaus. Using the KDD (Knowledge Discovery in Databases) methodology and decision trees, data were collected over a week at different points in the production process. The results identified that the 5th and 7th order harmonics, originating from the tablet production line, contributed the most to the total harmonic distortion of voltage (THDv) at the common coupling point (PCC). The decision tree technique proved effective in classifying and prioritizing distortion sources, aiding in decision-making for impact mitigation.

Melhor aproveitamento da energia elétrica na indústria
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2014) SOARES, Gerdson Tanaka; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; SOARES, Thiago Mota; Profª. Drª Aline Maria Meiguins de Lima
This paper presents a proposal for an industrial energy management system focused on low-cost actions, based on measurement, recording, control, and automation. Through a case study in a plastics industry located in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, it was possible to demonstrate energy savings of up to 35.5%, using the Measurement and Verification (M&V) methodology. The study highlights the importance of integrated management as a tool for energy efficiency, with positive impacts on productivity, cost, and sustainability.

This paper presents an analysis of harmonic current impacts in an industrial facility in the Manaus Industrial Zone using Naive Bayes classification, a data mining technique. The study measures total harmonic distortion (THDv) and identifies which production processes contribute most to power quality issues, particularly due to non-linear loads like switch-mode power supplies. The methodology includes power quality measurements and statistical analysis with dedicated software.

Naive Bayes applied impacts harmonic analysis in industrial electrical systems
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) SILVA, Waterloo Ferreira da; NOGUEIRA, Rildo de Mendonça; CASTRO, Anderson; SANTANA, Ádamo L.; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; Profa. Dra. Maria Adrina Paixão de Souza da Silva.
This paper applies the Naive Bayes data mining technique to analyze the impact of current harmonic distortion in an industrial facility located in the Manaus Industrial Pole. During a week-long measurement campaign, data were collected from circuits such as compressors, air conditioning systems, and tablet and notebook testing lines. Using tools like Weka and Genie, the analysis identified correlations between specific harmonic orders and increases in total harmonic distortion of voltage (THDv), with the 7th-order harmonic having the highest impact.

PROJETO MULTICRITÉRIO DE FILTROS HARMÔNICOS PASSIVOS PARA INSTALAÇÕES INDUSTRIAIS UTILIZANDO TÉCNICAS DE INTELIGÊNCIA COMPUTACIONAL
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013) LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima
Due to the industrial growth in Northern Brazil, especially at the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM), mathematical tools are needed to assist experts in selecting and sizing harmonic filters that neutralize the harmful effects of harmonics generated by nonlinear loads and ensure compliance with power quality standards. Additionally, passive harmonic filters (PHF) can act as reactive power compensators, achieving significant energy billing savings. This thesis develops a mathematical method and a computational tool for selecting the configuration and design parameters of PHFs in industrial systems, formulating the problem as a multi-objective optimization that considers both harmonic distortion reduction and the project's economic effectiveness, complying with Brazilian and international standards. The computational solution is based on the NSGA-II genetic algorithm, generating a Pareto front of optimal solutions that allow designers to select the most suitable option. The tool includes innovative features, such as automatic selection of filter configuration and number of branches, and considers various operational scenarios. Validation was performed through practical examples that demonstrated the advantages of the proposed method.
