Methodology for inventory risk analysis and management using Excel and Visual Basic modeling

Abstract

Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming, when used in an Excel environment, is a crucial tool for determining inventory classification risks and an excellent alternative given the current shortage of optimization assessment methods for inventory risk classification. This study aims to develop a VBA-Excel application capable of classifying inventory risks, providing data and assertive responses according to organizational concepts. The methodology included field research conducted with small and medium-sized enterprises in Manaus, Amazonas. The experimental research yielded qualitative results and contributes to improving data quality and decision-making speed. This study is expected to foster discussion on the topic and serve as a technical and theoretical reference for users and programmers of Solver and VBA tools.
