Item Efeito da transformação da microestrutura do aço ao carbono obtido por processos termoquímico a gás(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2010) MONTEIRO, Alberto de Castro; SILVA, José Antonio de Souza; OLIVEIRA, Macêdo Santos de; DELON, José Alain; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; MAGALHÃES, Edilson MarquesThe study examined the microstructural transformation of SAE 1020 steel (low carbon) subjected to gaseous carbonitriding thermochemical treatment to enhance wear resistance in helical broaches for pocket lighters. Nitrided and carburized layers were analyzed via optical microscopy and microhardness tests, comparing approved and non-conforming samples. Results showed that ferric nitride presence significantly increased surface hardness, with diffusion layers of 0.14 µm to 0.47 µm (nitrides) and 1.43 µm to 2.76 µm (carbides), complying with NBR NM 136 standards. The process proved effective for applications requiring ductile cores and wear-resistant surfaces.Item Estudo dos Calços Infláveis de Filmes de Polietileno (PE) como substitutos dos Calços de Poliestireno (EPS) utilizados hoje nas Embalagens de Produtos Eletroeletrônicos(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2010) OLIVEIRA, Macêdo Santos de; SILVA, José Antônio S.; LOPES, Antônio Dimael de Almeida; MONTEIRO, Alberto de Castro; DELON, José Alain; Prof Dr. Walter Barra Junior"This ongoing research involves a study using various types of nationally produced polyethylene (PE) films with different thicknesses to be applied as air cushions for protective padding in electronic product packaging. The aim is to replace the commonly used expanded polystyrene (EPS) padding with inflatable PE padding, which offers advantages such as lower cost, efficiency, low manufacturing cost, excellent mechanical performance, and full recyclability. The study compares the two types of padding in terms of logistics, storage, cost, and production efficiency."
