Composting Model with The Reuse of Organic Waste in Rural Schools
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2021) SIMÕES, Natália Cristina Bezerra de Alencar; ALENCAR, David Barbosa de; BEZERRA, Alberto de Souza; NASCIMENTO, Manoel Henrique Reis; FERRO, Any Karoline Bezerra de Alencar; PINTO JÚNIOR, José Roberto Lira.; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
School institutions become producers of organic waste as a result of the daily consumption of school meals offered to students during the school year. An alternative to prevent this material from being incorrectly released into the environment is the implementation of a composting model that reuses organic waste, generating humus, which will serve as fertilizer for the implementation of a vegetable garden in rural schools. This work aims to propose a composting model in a rural school in Manaus for the reuse of organic waste, develop a composter prototype for the production of humic substances and mineral nutrients for garden creation, prepare a manual with guidelines for the correct and sustainable management of the composting plant and the school garden, and implement the garden system through the composting process using school organic waste. The work is a case study that seeks to raise awareness among the school community for the proper management and reuse of solid waste generated by the school, as well as to arouse interest in environmental education and behavior change for environmental preservation among students and teachers.

The Importance of Feedback in the Applicability of the PDCA Cycle
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2023) ALMEIDA, Dario Amauri Lopes de; LIMA, Alexandra Amaro de
The final disposal of urban solid waste is a growing global concern. This study explores the application of the PDCA cycle as a continuous improvement tool in solid waste management at the Fametro University Center, Units 1 and 2, in Manaus, Amazonas. The research analyzes students' perception of selective waste collection and proposes a project to improve the waste management process. The results obtained through questionnaires demonstrate the need for environmental awareness and the integration of recycling into academic routines, highlighting the importance of structured planning to minimize environmental impacts.

Solid Waste Management as an Instrument of Sustainability in Protestant Denominations
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2021) SILVA, Marcelo Guedes da; ANDRADE, João Bosco Ladislau de; SILVA, Simone da.; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
This study deals with solid waste management in Protestant Christian religious institutions in the city of Manaus, aiming to evaluate how these institutions manage solid waste and whether they carry out any type of waste management. The applied methodology was descriptive, through observation, registration, analysis, and correlation of the studied facts. Eighteen churches were visited, distributed across all areas of the city, and forms and checklists based on the National Policy on Solid Waste (PNRS) were used. The results showed that there is a great possibility for these Christian communities to serve as environmental schools, promoting societal awareness.

Environmental Education: The 3R’s (Three R’s) in the First Year of Fundamental Education
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2022) SILVA, Mey Ling Oliveira da; SILVA, Simone da; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
This study addresses environmental education applied to elementary education, focusing on the implementation of the 3R’s concept (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle). The research analyzes children's perception of the environment and how education can shape critical and aware citizens. The study was conducted with first-year elementary students using interactive activities, digital games, workshops, and discussions. The results indicate that environmental education, when inserted in a didactic and playful manner, significantly contributes to the development of sustainable attitudes and the understanding of waste reduction importance.

PROMOVENDO DESENVOLVIMENTO E CONSCIENTIZAÇÃO AMBIENTAL EM CRIANÇAS COM DEFICIÊNCIA: UMA ABORDAGEM COM EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA ADAPTADA E LÓGICA FUZZY
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024) BEZERRA, Igor Felipe Oliveira; CAMPOS, Paola Souto; BRITO JUNIOR, Jorge de Almeida; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
This study aimed to develop a fuzzy logic model to assess the impact of interventions in Adapted Physical Education and Environmental Education on the development of children with disabilities, covering physical, cognitive, and environmental awareness aspects. The research sought to transcend conventional evaluation approaches by implementing scenario simulations that mimic real conditions and incorporating variables such as motor coordination and understanding of environmental concepts. The interventions were evaluated using fuzzy rules to measure the impacts on various dimensions of development. Although the model was not applied in a practical context with children, validation tests suggest its future applicability in practical studies. The results indicate that integrated and balanced interventions can effectively improve both physical and cognitive development. The use of fuzzy logic proved to be a robust tool for detailed progress assessment, indicating that the developed model can significantly contribute to inclusive pedagogical practices and guide educational policies aimed at the needs of children with disabilities, reinforcing the importance of sustainability in environmental education.

Composting Model with the Reuse of Organic Waste in Rural Schools
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2021) SIMÕES, Natália Cristina Bezerra de Alencar; ALENCAR, David Barbosa de; BEZERRA, Alberto de Souza; NASCIMENTO, Manoel Henrique Reis; FERRO, Any Karoline Bezerra de Alencar; PINTO JÚNIOR, José Roberto Lira; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
School institutions generate organic waste due to daily meal consumption. A sustainable alternative is the implementation of a composting model to reuse this waste, generating humus, which can serve as fertilizer for school gardens. This study proposes the implementation of a compost bin in a rural school in Manaus, addressing the development of a prototype, the creation of a guideline manual for compost management, and the implementation of the school garden system. The project aims to raise awareness among the school community about proper solid waste management and reuse, promoting environmental education and behavioral change.

Perspectiva da Educação Ambiental no Ensino Fundamental: Um Estudo de Caso
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2023) JANUÁRIO, Caroline Araújo da Costa; PAIVA, Ana Paula Cardoso Queiroz de; LIMA, Alexandra Amaro de; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
Although environmental education is a relevant topic, it is still treated insufficiently and ineffectively in schools. Environmental education is a powerful ally in environmental preservation, but few people have access to this type of information, making it difficult to shape environmentally conscious and responsible citizens. This study proposes the development of an educational and functional booklet to introduce environmental education in elementary school, covering aspects such as environmental legislation, duties, and citizens' rights. The booklet was developed through visits and meetings with educators and students, and its effectiveness was evaluated through debates and questionnaires, showing a positive impact on student awareness.
