Evaluation of Radiated Electromagnetic Immunity of the IoT LoRa Protocol
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2021) RIBEIRO, Jhonatan; SANTOS, Eliton Smith dos; ALENCAR, David Barbosa de; NASCIMENTO, Manoel Henrique Reis do; SANTOS, Alyson de Jesus dos; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
With the advancement of Industry 4.0, industrial automation has transitioned to wireless networks, enhancing flexibility and efficiency. Technologies such as LoRaWAN are widely adopted due to their low power consumption and long-range communication capabilities. However, the increasing density of connected devices presents challenges related to electromagnetic interference (EMI), which can degrade network performance. This study evaluates the radiated electromagnetic immunity of the LoRa protocol, testing Heltec LoRa ESP32 V2 boards according to IEC 61000-4-3 standards. The tests, conducted in an anechoic chamber at frequencies from 80 MHz to 6 GHz with a field intensity of 10 V/m, revealed sensitivity to EMI at specific frequencies (305 MHz and 730 MHz), leading to packet loss and communication failures. These findings highlight the need for enhanced filtering, shielding, and protocol adjustments to improve the robustness of industrial LoRa-based communications.

Estudo de Caracterização da Eficiência Produtiva nas Indústrias de Montagem de Eletroeletrônicas do Polo Industrial de Manaus por Meio do Cálculo do OEE - Caso de Estudo de Automação
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024) MONTEIRO, Isabela Zanotto; MARINELLI FILHO, Nelson; GUIMARÃES, Gil Eduardo; CORREA, Geraldo Nunes; FERREIRA, Matheus Rissardi; MARINELLI FILHO, Nelson
This study presents the implementation of Industry 4.0 enabling technologies, with an emphasis on the use of Digital Twins and the automation of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) calculation, applied to an electro-electronic assembly line at the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). The objective was to develop a solution capable of identifying, in real time, the times and reasons for production stoppages, aiming to optimize industrial processes and reduce operational costs. Data were collected through IoT sensors installed on production lines, integrated into a digital platform that virtually replicated the factory plant in a Digital Twin system. OEE was automatically calculated based on three main indicators: Availability, Performance, and Quality. Simulations in the virtual environment identified production bottlenecks and allowed predictive actions to prevent failures and optimize machine performance. The results, obtained over 80 days of monitoring, showed an evolution in productive efficiency indicators, with a reduction in unplanned downtime, dynamic adjustment of production parameters, and improvement in product quality, positively impacting industrial sustainability and energy efficiency.

Digital technologies review for manufacturing processes
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2021-03-31) PARENTE, Ricardo Silva; UHLMANN, Iracyanne Retto
It is apparent the industrial processes transformations caused by industry 4.0 are in advance in some countries like China, Japan, Germany and United States. But, in return, the developing countries, as the emergent Brazil, seem like to have a long way to achieve digital era. Considering manufacturing processes as the starting point the rise of industry 4.0, this research aims to show a review about the most important technologies used in smart manufacturing, including the main challenges to implement it at Brazil. The papers were collected from Web of Science (WoS), comprising 114 articles and 2 books to underpin this study. This exploratory research resulted in the presentation of some challenges faced by Brazilian industry to join the new industrial era, such as poor technological infrastructure, besides lack of investment in technologies and training of qualified people. Even though the primary motivation of this research was to present a panorama of smart manufacturing for Brazil, this study results contributes to the most of emergent countries, bringing together general concepts and addressing practical applications developed by several researchers from the international academic community.
