Abstract

Application of Quick Tool Change Methodology in Facing Machine for Serial Production of Transmission Shafts. Market globalization impacts all segments of the modern world, with competitiveness among product and service providers being a relevant factor. This study analyzes how process improvement in machining, through machine device optimization and industrial automation, affects the industry and operational costs. The research was applied to a factory producing motorcycle industry components, focusing on reducing setup time and scrap through the implementation of a new adjustment device. The results showed a significant reduction in setup time and the number of rejected parts, demonstrating the effectiveness of the SMED methodology in optimizing the production process.
