Otimização do Tempo de Descarga de Vagões Tanque em Terminal de Distribuição de Combustíveis
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) SILVA, Jhonatan Ferreira da; QUARESMA, João Nazareno Nonato
The study focuses on optimizing the discharge time of fuel from tank wagons in a distribution terminal, aiming to enhance operational efficiency within a predefined time frame. Hydraulic systems were analyzed, centrifugal pumps and pipelines were sized, and a calculation spreadsheet based on the Darcy-Weisbach formula for head loss was developed. The proposed solution significantly increased the discharged volume, meeting the terminal's demands.

Modelagem de Sistema de Combate a Incêndio em Terminal Aquaviário de Petróleo e GLP Baseado em Redes de Petri Coloridas
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) VALDA, Luiz Henrique Carneiro; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
Fire-fighting systems (FFS) are critical to the safety of industrial oil and gas facilities, aiming to preserve physical integrity and personnel safety. This work applies mechatronic concepts to model and analyze an FFS in a waterway terminal transporting oil and gas, using Discrete Event Systems (DES) theory and Colored Petri Nets (CPN). Based on scenarios and FFS behavior, formal models are developed to analyze system responses in emergency situations, optimizing efficiency and integration with other industrial systems.

The study evaluates the technical-economic feasibility of reusing concrete waste in a precast concrete factory, aiming to implement a solid waste management system. The research shows that reusing the waste generates cost savings and reduces environmental impacts, with a return on investment in approximately nine months.

Implementação de Ferramentas Lean com Utilização de Software de Gestão de Instrumentos em Laboratório de Calibração
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) OLIVEIRA, Paulo César Barros de; BRAGA, Eduardo de Magalhães
The objective of this project is to present a model for waste reduction in a calibration and testing laboratory, using the Lean Manufacturing philosophy and instrument management software (e-SGI). The developed methodology consists of six steps: selecting the instrument family, defining the project objective, mapping the current state, drawing up the action plan, mapping the future state, and generating indicators. The results show increased productivity, efficiency, and lead time reduction.

Melhoria do Processo de Manufatura e do Controle de Gestão de uma Cozinha Industrial
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) PESSOA, Sérgio da Silva; SOUZA, José Antonio da Silva
The objective of this work was to identify the consequences and influences caused by the dissatisfaction of production operators consuming food manufactured by an outsourced company, through the mapping of indicators that directly and indirectly affect the functional performance of these workers. An explanatory research was conducted, using questionnaires and complementary interviews, to analyze factors influencing the quality of the food served. It was concluded that poor food quality can lead to dissatisfaction, negatively impacting labor performance.

Controle da Qualidade do Processo Produtivo de Perfis em Steel Frame: O Caso de uma Indústria de Manaus
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) FREITAS, Vanusa do Carmo Souza de; OLIVEIRA, Kleber Bittencourt
This study analyzes the quality control of the production process of steel frame profiles at Pré Moldados Planalto Ltda, located in Manaus. The research describes the production process, identifies strengths and challenges—such as delays in raw material supply and lack of interdepartmental communication—and proposes an action plan with six improvement measures, including maintenance scheduling, employee training, and quality tools implementation. The conclusion highlights that the company has quality control but requires adjustments to optimize production.

Viabilidade da Aplicação de Resíduos da Cerâmica Branca Oriundos da Cidade de Manaus para Produção de Argamassas
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) MELO, José Roberto de Souza; MAGALHÃES, Edilson
This study proposes the use of white ceramic waste (RCB), generated in the city of Manaus, as a pozzolanic material in mortar production. X-ray fluorescence and diffraction analyses identified the presence of silicon, aluminum, iron, and sodium oxides in proportions that comply with ABNT NBR 12653/1992 standards. Five mixtures with varying proportions of RCB, sand, and cement were tested and evaluated for porosity, water absorption, specific mass, and compressive strength. The results indicated that the produced mortars can be classified as Class PI and P2, according to ABNT NBR 13279, demonstrating the technical feasibility of replacing up to 50% of natural aggregate with RCB, reducing costs and environmental impact.
