Adequação Estrutural dos Pilares de um Edifício Residencial em Concreto Armado na Cidade de Rio Branco

Abstract

This work presents a case study on the recovery and strengthening of reinforced concrete pillars in a residential building located in the city of Rio Branco, Acre. The building, abandoned for about two decades, presented structural pathologies that compromised its safety. The adopted reinforcement method was reinforced concrete jacketing, which consists of increasing the cross-section of the pillars with the addition of concrete and reinforcements. The study included the structural analysis of the building, the redesign of the pillars, and the application of the reinforcement technique, demonstrating the effectiveness of the method in recovering the building's structural capacity.
