Impactos do Programa PROSAMIM para os Ribeirinhos do Igarapé do Quarenta na Cidade de Manaus

Abstract

The dissertation analyzes the impacts of the Social and Environmental Program of the Manaus Streams (PROSAMIM) for the riverside dwellers of the Igarapé do Quarenta in the city of Manaus. The study addresses the importance of the program's implementation for the residents of the stream's margins, highlighting the main environmental impacts and the benefits that occurred after urbanization. The research uses a qualitative-quantitative methodology, with bibliographic analysis, field research, interviews, forms, photographic records, and participant observation. The work demonstrates that PROSAMIM brought housing and environmental improvements, but also points out challenges related to sustainability and social inclusion.
