Through the implementation of control measures, through different engineering and management techniques, a considerable reduction of the average level of environmental noise outside the walls can be achieved. In this sense, a company that manufactures microwave ovens, the object of this study, developed and implemented control measures that led to the reduction of the mean sound pressure level emitted by one of its production processes, with an industrial plant installed in Manaus-AM. Such noisy source was chosen because it is close to the boundary with the boundary of the surrounding company, which was receiving noise in a location above 60 dB (A), which is the criterion level of evaluation of the night time, serving as the limit of tolerance in accordance with the requirements of Conama Resolution no. 01/90 and NBR 10.151 / 2000. Thus, after the intervention was completed, new environmental assessments were carried out, which made it possible to compare the values obtained before the change was executed, with the results of the evaluations carried out after this execution. Therefore, it was observed that the limits of tolerance in force in Brazil have been met, showing that the result of this improvement can be considered effective, both technically and legally, always aiming to prevent auditory discomfort in the community, in this case, an industrial company around the establishment under study, as well as, hearing loss in the workers of this industrial establishment.

Resumo

Por meio da implementação de medidas de controle, através de distintas técnicas de engenharia e gestão, uma considerável redução do nível médio de ruído ambiental extramuros pode ser alcançada. Neste sentido, uma empresa fabricante de fornos micro-ondas, objeto deste estudo, desenvolveu e implementou medidas de controle que levaram à diminuição do nível médio de pressão sonora emitido por um de seus processos produtivos, com planta industrial instalada em Manaus-AM. Tal fonte ruidosa foi escolhida porque fica próxima da divisa com os limites da empresa circunvizinha, a qual estava recebendo ruído, em um local, acima de 60 dB (A), que é o nível critério de avaliação do horário noturno, servindo de limite de tolerância de acordo com os imperativos da Resolução Conama n.º 01/90 e NBR 10.151/2000. Dessa forma, após a finalização da intervenção, novas avaliações ambientais foram realizadas, o que possibilitou que houvesse comparação entre os valores obtidos antes que a mudança fosse executada, com os resultados das avaliações realizadas após esta execução. Assim sendo, observou-se que os limites de tolerância em vigor no Brasil passaram a ser atendidos, evidenciando que o resultado advindo dessa melhoria pode ser considerado eficaz, tanto do ponto de vista técnico, quanto legal, almejando sempre prevenir desconforto auditivo na comunidade, no caso, empresa industrial ao redor do estabelecimento em estudo, bem como, perdas auditivas nos trabalhadores deste próprio estabelecimento industrial.
