Avaliação do Sistema de Tratamento de Esgoto Doméstico Instalado em Empreendimentos da Cidade de Manaus

Abstract

This study evaluated the efficiency of domestic sewage treatment in three wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) located in ventures in the city of Manaus, using MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) technology. The study focused on the analysis of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) as an efficiency indicator, comparing the results with the standards established by the environmental legislation CONAMA 430/2011. Operational and maintenance activities were surveyed, identifying problems and suggesting improvements in the management of WWTPs. The results showed that the WWTPs are efficient in treating domestic sewage, with BOD values below the legal limit, although some operational failures were observed.
