dc.description.abstractThe overall objective is to implement the Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) methodology to reduce the setup time (model change) in an electronics factory in Brazil. The research was carried out at a company in the electronics segment, located in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM). Using a cause-and-effect diagram, it was verified that machines, labor, method, and material are the main causes for the high setup time. The initial SMED action plan defined eleven actions to reduce the line setup time. The implementation of the SMED method resulted in a 64% reduction in setup time, bringing significant productivity and efficiency improvements to the analyzed SMT line.
dc.description.resumoO objetivo principal deste estudo é implementar a metodologia Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) para reduzir o tempo de setup (troca de modelo) em uma linha de produção de montagem de componentes eletrônicos (SMT). A pesquisa foi realizada em uma empresa do setor eletrônico localizada no Polo Industrial de Manaus (PIM). Através do diagrama de causa e efeito, foram identificadas as principais causas do alto tempo de setup, relacionadas a máquinas, mão de obra, método e material. O plano de ação inicial do SMED definiu 11 melhorias para otimizar o tempo de troca. A implementação do método resultou na redução do tempo de setup em 64%, trazendo um impacto significativo na produtividade e eficiência da linha de SMT analisada.
