dc.description.abstractThe study investigates the combustion of sawdust pellets in a fluidized bed, aiming at the energy recovery of solid waste in bioethanol production. Samples of pine and palo blanco were analyzed, focusing on the devolatilization stage and primary fragmentation. Results showed significant differences in thermal behavior and fragmentation between the species, with pine exhibiting less fragmentation and more consistent residues. The theoretical model used predicted devolatilization times, validated experimentally, highlighting the influence of bed temperature and particle diameter.
dc.description.resumoO estudo investiga a combustão de pellets de aserrín em leito fluidizado, visando o aproveitamento energético de resíduos sólidos na produção de bioetanol. Foram analisadas amostras de pino e palo branco, com foco na etapa de devolatilização e fragmentação primária. Os resultados mostraram diferenças significativas no comportamento térmico e na fragmentação entre as espécies, com o pino apresentando menor fragmentação e maior consistência residual. O modelo teórico utilizado permitiu prever os tempos de devolatilização, validados experimentalmente, destacando-se a influência da temperatura do lecho e do diâmetro das partículas.
