Os Princípios do Tratado de Cooperação Amazônia e o Gerenciamento Compartilhado do Sistema de Recursos Hídricos da Bacia Amazônica

Abstract

The Amazon Cooperation Treaty (TCA), signed in 1978 by Brazil and other Amazonian countries, aims to promote the harmonious development of the Amazon region, safeguard the sovereignty of the involved countries, and protect the environment. This work analyzes the principles of the TCA and its influence on the shared management of the water resources of the Amazon Basin, highlighting the importance of the Organization of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty (OTCA) in regional integration and sustainable management of natural resources. The research is based on a literature review, document analysis, and consultation of official sources, such as the National Water Agency (ANA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
