Item A Influência do Gerenciamento de Resíduos Sólidos em um Processo Produtivo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) MARTINS, Aline Guerreiro; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de MacedoCurrently, waste causes major environmental, social, and economic impacts due to increasing industrialization and population growth, which have increased the volume and types of waste generated. In Brazil, the National Policy on Industrial Solid Waste (PNRS), through Law 12,305/2010, defines solid waste management as a set of actions carried out, directly or indirectly, in the stages of collection, transport, transshipment, treatment, and environmentally appropriate disposal of solid waste. This study aimed to verify the application of PNRS goals regarding the reduction and reuse of solid waste generated at the stage of a production process in a company of the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). The method used was to evaluate improvement programs developed in-house that had a relationship with waste reduction and reuse. As a result, this study demonstrated that there was a reduction of 11.6 tons of steel per year, through the reuse of steel scrap in a stage of the process, which comes to mitigate the environmental impact on society.Item Avaliação do Sistema de Tratamento de Esgoto Doméstico Instalado em Empreendimentos da Cidade de Manaus(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) MARTINS, Adele Guerreiro; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de MacedoThis study evaluated the efficiency of domestic sewage treatment in three wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) located in ventures in the city of Manaus, using MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) technology. The study focused on the analysis of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) as an efficiency indicator, comparing the results with the standards established by the environmental legislation CONAMA 430/2011. Operational and maintenance activities were surveyed, identifying problems and suggesting improvements in the management of WWTPs. The results showed that the WWTPs are efficient in treating domestic sewage, with BOD values below the legal limit, although some operational failures were observed.Item Elaboração de um Modelo Matemático para o Estudo do Comportamento de Efluentes Originados da Indústria do Petróleo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) SOUZA, Suellyn Siqueira de; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de MacedoThe objective of this work was to develop a mathematical model to predict the future behavior of treated effluents originating from the petroleum processing industry. The model was developed by dividing the effluent treatment system into subprocesses, for which submodels were developed and then integrated to form a general model. The development of the general model involved defining the input and output variables of the system, formulating general dynamic equations, acquiring process data, estimating submodels using fuzzy identification techniques, and integrating the submodels through the neurofuzzy method. The final model allowed simulations of effluent behavior under critical conditions, contributing to environmental conservation.Item Incorporação Parcial de Lodo Químico como Matéria Prima na Fabricação de Tijolos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) SOUZA, Márcia Regina Monteiro de; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de MacedoThe residue called "chemical sludge" is generated after treatment of industrial effluents of the production process painting on metal surfaces, specifically the so-called dehydration and compaction phase through the filter press in a electronics industry located in the Industrial Pole of Manaus - PIM. Most of the time, the final destination of the waste is incineration or landfills, but as allocation alternative, the incorporation of this material in manufacturing ceramic brick has become economically viable and less harmful to the environment. This research presents a re-use alternative chemical sludge residue, in order to incorporate in the manufacture of ceramic bricks. The merger is to add 5% of the waste chemical sludge to the clay material used as raw material in the manufacture of ceramic blocks (bricks), aimed at reducing costs and environmental risks arising from the disposal of this waste; while minimizing environmental impacts from the extraction of raw materials directly from the environment. The results of this study allow us to conclude that the amount of 5% of chemical sludge incorporated in clay for the brick manufacturing does not affect the product quality, recommended its use in ceramic block.
