A Falha da Utilização do Ciclo de Deming no Monitoramento dos Processos em uma Indústria Metalúrgica
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) ALBUQUERQUE, Ananélia Claudia Rodrigues de Queiroz; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes; OLIVEIRA, Rosimeire Freires Pereira; OLIVEIRA, Sidney dos Santos; Eduardo de Magalhães Braga
The study examines the application of the Deming Cycle (PDCA) in monitoring the production processes of a metallurgical company in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). Through direct observation, questionnaires, and interviews, it was found that although the PDCA is used in strategic planning, its monitoring phase (Check) is not effectively implemented, leading to high rates of defective parts and increased production costs. The research emphasizes the need for rigorous follow-up of PDCA stages to ensure continuous improvements and operational efficiency.

ANÁLISE DAS RELAÇÕES EXISTENTES ENTRE AS PERDAS REGISTRADAS E AS FALHAS DE CONTROLE INTERNO DE UMA REDE DE DROGARIAS – ESTUDO DE CASO
(nstituto de Tecnologia, 2016) SANTOS, Isaque Veloso dos; RODRÍGUEZ, Jorge Laureano Moya;; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes
The Brazilian drugstore market is gaining importance as an economic activity due to its growth in revenue, employees, and customers served. Regardless of the company’s size, effective internal control is essential, particularly in inventory management, as minor oversights can lead to losses and reduced profits. This study analyzes the relationship between recorded losses and internal control failures in a drugstore chain. The research is explanatory, descriptive, bibliographic, and exploratory, using both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Losses of R$ 1,206,075.97 were identified in 2014, highlighting weaknesses in internal inventory control and the need for improvements to minimize such losses.

AUDITORIA DE PROCESSO COMO FERRAMENTA DE APOIO PARA FORTALECER A QUALIDADE ASSEGURADA EM FORNECEDORES DE UMA INDÚSTRIA DE CONDICIONADORES DE AR
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) SILVA, Luis Kenedy Miranda da; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes
This study discusses the importance of process audits as a supporting tool to strengthen quality assurance in suppliers of an air conditioner industry. In a competitive scenario, ensuring that components are supplied without defects is essential to avoid additional inspections and improve the reliability of final products. The case study conducted at Midea Carrier do Brasil, in Manaus, highlights the implementation of process audits, demonstrating positive impacts on quality management and supplier performance.

Desenvolvimento de um Modelo Matemático para a Avaliação da Eficiência da Combustão em Usinas Termoelétricas Operando com Gás e Alternando com Diesel
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) AZEVEDO, Manoel S. Santos; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano Moya; RICO, Iván Leandro Rodriguez; DÍAZ, Pablo Romélio Roque; GOMES, Paulo Cezar Rocha.; Prof Dr. Walter Barra Junior
The article presents a mathematical model developed to evaluate combustion efficiency in thermoelectric power plants operating with natural gas (NG) and alternating with diesel (HFO). The study was conducted in a plant transitioning to dual-fuel use, aiming to optimize energy efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions. The model covers stoichiometric, thermodynamic, and kinetic aspects of combustion, implemented in software for real-time analysis. Results demonstrated the model's feasibility in predicting engine performance and optimizing specific fuel consumption, with practical applications in plant operation.

Redução do Tempo de Setup do Processo de Aquecimento de Moldes de Fundição de Baixa Pressão com Utilização de Resistência Tubular: Um Estudo de Caso Aplicado à Indústria de Motocicletas
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) THOMAZ, Elton de Jesus; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes
This study aims to reduce the setup time in the mold heating process used in low-pressure casting of motorcycle cylinder heads. The methodology applied was a case study, with the implementation of a tubular resistance electric heater. The results showed a 44.45% reduction in setup time, elimination of operator safety risks, improvement in the quality of produced parts, increased mold lifespan, and reduction in operational costs in the order of millions of reais per year. The relevance of the study lies in the application of the proposed improvements to other industrial processes involving mold heating.

Sistematização e Transporte do Pescado para o Processamento e Abastecimento Industrial no Alto Solimões
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) CRUZ, Francilene dos Santos; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes; BRAGA, Eduardo Magalhães
This paper systematically and analytically addresses the fish trade in the Upper Solimões region, in the state of Amazonas. The research followed the routine of local fishermen, who rely on fishing for subsistence, highlighting the difficulties they face, such as the lack of incentives for fish trade and the smuggling of fish to foreign countries. The need for fish warehouses for processing and distribution of a quality product was noted, emphasizing that the municipality of Tabatinga already has a warehouse, but it is not operational. The research also highlighted the presence of refrigerators and floating warehouses along the route, which serve to store production. Data collected in interviews demonstrated the commercial dynamics in the triple border area and the environmental and fiscal impacts resulting from the lack of inspection.
