The article examines logistics strategies for supplying IT product kits in the Manaus Industrial Hub (PIM), focusing on transport modal choices (maritime, multimodal, and air) amid regional challenges and the 2008 financial crisis. The studied company initially adopted multimodal transport (Sea/Air) but switched to air freight due to customs delays and material shortages, ensuring speed despite higher costs. The study evaluates service dimensions (speed, consistency, capability, availability, and frequency) and underscores the role of logistics planning in maintaining PIM’s competitiveness.

The article discusses the recycling of solder dross generated in the electronic component soldering process, using sawdust as an organic reducing agent. The aim is to develop a process that minimizes tin alloy consumption, reducing costs and environmental impacts. Factorial experiments were conducted to evaluate the influence of tank temperature and sawdust quantity on the yield of recycled solder. The results indicated that the combination of 265°C and 100g of sawdust provides the best recovery of solder dross.

Análise de Experimentos Aplicada na Maximização do Rendimento da Reciclagem da Borra de Solda (Lead Free): Uma Aplicação do Pó de Serra como Redutor Orgânico
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) SOUZA, João Carlos Rodrigues de; Prof. Dr. José Antonio da Silva Souza
The study analyzes and employs planning and experimental analysis techniques to improve the performance of the Lead Free solder dross recycling process. Sawdust was applied as an organic reducer to remove oxide from the solder dross in an industry in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM). The research identified relevant process parameters and evaluated their optimization to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
