Item Viabilidade de Geração Energética no Aterro Sanitário de Manaus Visando a Sustentabilidade Ambiental(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) MARTINS, Maura Celi; LEITE, Jandecy CabralIn the last two decades, various studies on greenhouse gas concentration and flow (especially CO₂ and CH₄) have shown their contribution to climate change. This study proposes a sustainable alternative energy generation through methane gas from the landfill in Manaus, based on municipal data. The methodology included field research and analysis of solid waste data. Results indicate that Manaus generates approximately 2,632.156 t/day of solid waste.Item Estudo sobre a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos: Da Coleta ao Descarte no Aterro Sanitário da Cidade de Manaus(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2018) SANTOS, Roniê Oliveira dos; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosThe research seeks to demonstrate the importance of environmental management in the collection and disposal of solid waste in the urban area of Manaus. Law No. 12.305/10, which instituted the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), contains important instruments to enable the country to advance in the face of major environmental, social, and economic problems arising from the inadequate handling of solid waste. This research addresses the disposal of solid waste in the urban area of the city of Manaus, in view of what environmental law provides on the disposal of solid waste. The methodological nature of this research is exploratory, aiming at the approximation of the theme and seeking greater familiarity with environmental law and access to existing reports in the secretariats of the city of Manaus. It is concluded that the proposed objectives were achieved, but the great obstacle is still in low education and lack of awareness of our environmental attitudes.
