    This work presents a proposal to modify the furnace pressure control system in the DZ boiler at Hydro Alunorte refinery, aiming to solve instability problems during load variations. The implementation of the feedforward control strategy resulted in greater operational stability, increased boiler response speed, and the restoration of automatic operation of the combustion system and oxygen control. The results showed significant improvements in boiler performance and the reliability of the steam generation system.

    Aprimoramento do Desempenho do Controlador Preditivo Multivariável Aplicado em Coluna Depropanizadora Utilizando Filtro de Kalman

    The increase in the efficiency of industrial processes has become essential due to high market competitiveness. In this context, techniques that improve the performance efficiency of industrial plant control systems, minimizing costs and maximizing product quality, are relevant. The use of the Kalman Filter in process variables that feed control systems allows noise and uncertainty reduction, improving stability and industrial system performance. This study presents the results of the Kalman Filter implementation in the depropanizer column of an industrial process, controlled by a Multivariable Predictive Controller, using real data and simulations in the MATLAB/SIMULINK platform.

    Proposta de Redução de Custos numa Empresa do Setor de Duas Rodas no Polo Industrial de Manaus

    This research aims to evaluate different industrial processes, focusing on cost-benefit analysis. The studied company reduces costs while increasing product quality through advanced industrial production technologies. Using a case study methodology, the research describes old and new processes and investigates cost and benefit evidence, concluding that the company’s strategy resulted in significant profit and productivity gains.
