Concreto Produzido com Agregado Graúdo Basáltico da Região de Santarém-PA: Caracterização Geotécnica e Aplicação em Obras Rodoviárias
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) DINIZ, Sandro Jeronimo de Almeida; NETO, Bernardo Borges Pompeu; OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
The study evaluates the use of coarse basaltic aggregate from Serra do Inajá, in the Santarém-PA region, for structural concrete in road construction. Axial compression, granulometry, and Los Angeles abrasion tests were conducted, showing that the material has an average strength of 136.2 MPa in intact rock and meets normative requirements for concrete above 20 MPa. The results indicate technical feasibility, with potential for cost reduction and local resource utilization.

Reutilização de resíduos sólidos dos canteiros de obra da construção civil
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) MOREIRA, Luciano Alves; FREENZI, Norbert; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
The article addresses the uncontrolled growth of solid waste generation in the construction sector, highlighting the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of improper disposal. It proposes the reuse and recycling of these wastes as measures to reduce pollution and promote sustainability in the industry. The study emphasizes the importance of integrated waste management, including source reduction, selective collection, and the inclusion of waste pickers, while presenting examples of sustainable practices that can be adopted on construction sites. The results demonstrate that adopting these measures brings economic, environmental, and social benefits, contributing to more sustainable development.

REUTILIZAÇÃO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS DOS CANTEIROS DE OBRA DA CONSTRUÇÃO CIVIL
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2014) MOREIRA, Luciano Alves; FREENZI, Norbert
The disordered population growth and high demographic densities in urban centers, combined with economic development, contribute to the increase in solid waste generation in civil construction. Recycling and reusing these waste materials bring economic, social, and environmental benefits, emphasizing the need for sustainable management and efficient public policies.

Patologias Hidro-Sanitárias em Condomínio Residencial Vertical em Manaus (AM): Diagnóstico e Terapia
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) VIEIRA, Paulo Cézar Corrêa; RODRÍGUEZ, Jorge Laureano Moya; SOUZA, José Antônio da Silva; Emanuel Negrão Macêdo
This article presents a study on pathological manifestations in sanitary sewage systems in a vertical residential condominium in Manaus. Identified pathologies include bad odors, blockages, noise, and sewage backflow, resulting from non-compliance with technical standards, execution failures, and lack of maintenance. The study proposes therapeutic solutions to mitigate these issues, emphasizing the importance of adhering to norms and building maintenance to ensure user well-being.

This work presents the application of structural reinforcement by jacketing with reinforced concrete in the revitalization of "Casarão", a historic building in Rio Branco (AC). The study focused on columns P21, P30, and P41, which exhibited insufficient resistance due to the use of concrete with brick aggregates and corrosion of reinforcements. The adopted technique ensured increased load-bearing capacity without significantly altering the original dimensions, preserving architectural features. The results demonstrated efficiency, meeting the requirements of NBR 6118 (ABNT, 2014).

The study evaluated the mechanical properties of concretes produced with three types of coarse aggregates available in Santarém-PA (crushed stone, gravel, and "quebradinho"), using water/cement ratios of 0.74, 0.54, and 0.41. Properties were analyzed in both fresh (slump, cohesion, water demand) and hardened states (compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity). Results showed lower water demand with gravel and higher strength with crushed stone. "Quebradinho" offered economic advantages for 20 and 30 MPa concretes. The choice of aggregate directly influences concrete quality and cost.

Viabilidade da Aplicação de Resíduos da Cerâmica Branca Oriundos da Cidade de Manaus para Produção de Argamassas
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) MELO, José Roberto de Souza; MAGALHÃES, Edilson
This study proposes the use of white ceramic waste (RCB), generated in the city of Manaus, as a pozzolanic material in mortar production. X-ray fluorescence and diffraction analyses identified the presence of silicon, aluminum, iron, and sodium oxides in proportions that comply with ABNT NBR 12653/1992 standards. Five mixtures with varying proportions of RCB, sand, and cement were tested and evaluated for porosity, water absorption, specific mass, and compressive strength. The results indicated that the produced mortars can be classified as Class PI and P2, according to ABNT NBR 13279, demonstrating the technical feasibility of replacing up to 50% of natural aggregate with RCB, reducing costs and environmental impact.

Utilização do Bloco de Concreto em Construção de Empreendimentos: Um Estudo de Caso
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) BARROS, Íris Vargas; BRAGA, Eduardo de Magalhães
The general objective of this dissertation was to analyze in two companies in the city of Manaus how the production process of concrete blocks is characterized, demonstrating their technical viability of production. About the methodology, it is a case study carried out in Companies A and B, located in the city of Manaus, whose main activity is the production of concrete blocks and visits to two works (Supermarket X and Condominium Y) that used concrete blocks in their constructions. The results reveal that the advantages of the blocks could be verified in the buildings, emphasizing that one of the main advantages is that they are leaked and allow the passage of pipes and pipes for electrical and hydraulic installations.
