The study proposes a system based on linguistic variables such as stock level and demand, using membership functions and fuzzy rules to assist in decision-making regarding supply, replenishment, and bidding. The results demonstrate the method's feasibility for optimizing inventory control and minimizing costs.Item Aplicação de uma Metodologia de Lógica Fuzzy à Gestão de Estoques: Um Estudo de Caso em uma Instituição Pública(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) SANTOS, Gilbert Queiroz dos; BARRA JUNIOR, WalterThis paper presents a proposal for implementing a fuzzy logic approach to inventory management of a public institution of the federal administration, located in Manaus-AM. Initially, a review of the literature on logistics and supply management is conducted. They are then discussed issues relating to inventory management. After that, we discuss issues related to the fuzzy logic. The proposed methodology will allow a better control over inventory, since it will replace traditional quantitative methods of inventory management. The data were collected directly from the warehouse of the institution under study, and refer to the movement of stock of a particular item during the year 2009. The use of fuzzy logic has attracted increasingly more attention from researchers in different areas of knowledge, being, however, that the great challenge posed to them is the modeling of the data collected, due to its computational support needed application. The interaction with the observed values, operated by the rules of fuzzy logic allows a better control of stock in a warehouse, such as service, parts and tender, since it deals with uncertainty and subjectivity. The methodology appears to be able to indicate a better performance of the quoted shares, being able to operate on an automated tracking and inventory management.Item Implantação do Pull System – Filosofia Lean Manufacturing – em uma família de produtos de uma indústria de tintas e vernizes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) BORGES, Adriana Chagas; MAGALHÃES, Edilson MarquesIn Western countries, including Brazil, many companies seek to implement the Japanese management philosophy known as lean manufacturing and its principles, aiming to achieve better results based on waste reduction. From this, the implementation of the pull system in a paint industry was proposed with the objective of demonstrating the impact of this implementation on inventory levels and customer order fulfillment. The results demonstrated the efficiency of the pull system, which reduced inventory levels by 15% and increased the customer service index from 92% to 97%, breaking the paradigm that high inventory levels are necessary for good customer service.
