GESTÃO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS GERADOS DA CONSTRUÇÃO CIVIL
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2014) MOREIRA, Luciano Alves; FREENZI, Norbert; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
In Brazil, the construction industry is regarded as one of the most significant contributors to economic and social development, yet it also generates considerable environmental impacts. The sector faces the challenge of reconciling productivity with sustainability. Population growth and increased consumption have led to greater waste generation, with estimates indicating that each person produces about 1 kg of waste per day. This article discusses the environmental impacts and challenges of managing construction waste, suggesting sustainable practices as a way to reduce environmental harm.

REUTILIZAÇÃO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS DOS CANTEIROS DE OBRA DA CONSTRUÇÃO CIVIL
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2014) MOREIRA, Luciano Alves; FREENZI, Norbert
The disordered population growth and high demographic densities in urban centers, combined with economic development, contribute to the increase in solid waste generation in civil construction. Recycling and reusing these waste materials bring economic, social, and environmental benefits, emphasizing the need for sustainable management and efficient public policies.

Análise do Sistema de Gestão Ambiental da Unicoba da Amazônia Ltda: A Gestão Estratégica do Lixo Através da Coleta Seletiva
(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2018) VEIGA, Adailson Feitoza; SILVA, Jerônimo Lameira
The study examines the Environmental Management System (EMS) of Unicoba da Amazônia Ltda., focusing on strategic waste management through selective collection. It explores sustainable practices, improvement opportunities, and the implementation of environmental policies to mitigate impacts and add value to products and services. A qualitative-quantitative methodology, including questionnaires and direct observation, was used to assess the EMS's effectiveness and propose sustainable actions, such as selective collection, aligned with ISO 14001 standards.

Estudo para Reutilização de Resíduos Sólidos Secos Gerados em Escolas Públicas no Município de Santarém
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2019) NEVES, Daniela Cristina Pantoja; SOUZA, José Antônio da Silva
The consumerist profile of the world population through industrialized products results in the growth of waste from its packaging. Therefore, environmental degradation becomes a fact that already suffers significant consequences in the global sphere, thus enhancing discussions with the aforementioned issue so that solutions to minimize the problem are idealized and effective. Thus, this study proposes the reuse of Dry Solid Residues (RSS) generated in state public schools of the municipality of Santarém (PA). The research was developed at the two largest public schools in the state of Pará, Brazil. The RSS was collected, related, quantified and weighed for one week, so that the annual estimate of unit, type, mass, gravimetric composition was to be used as a parameter for its reuse. As a result, it was verified the generation of 47 different items of RSS, with 79% packaging related to foodstuffs. The total mass was approximately half a ton with 498.167 kg / year. Regarding the type of RSS, aluminum is shown with 21.159 kg / year, plastic with 468.146 kg / year and glass with 8.862 kg / year. The gravimetric composition was around 4.25% aluminum, 93.97% plastic and 1.78% glass. The generated RSSs have potential for reuse in both teaching materials and utensils for use in school.

Estudo da Viabilidade de um Consórcio Intermunicipal de Resíduos Sólidos entre os Municípios Amazonenses de Benjamin Constant e Atalaia do Norte.
(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2019) ABREU, Bruno Reinert de.; SIQUEIRA, Gilmar Wanzeller.
The management of solid waste has been a challenge for municipal public managers throughout the country. After the creation of the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), under Law 12.305/10, the federal government set deadlines for municipalities to adapt to the new reality. This work analyzed the economic and technical feasibility of an inter-municipal solid waste consortium between the municipalities of Benjamin Constant and Atalaia do Norte, located in Amazonas. Bibliographic studies, "in loco" data collection, and geoprocessing tools were used. The results indicated that the municipalities would not be able to implement and operate landfills individually, with the consortium being the best solution for the collection and final disposal of solid waste.

Gestão do Lixo no Município de Jutaí/AM
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) OLIVEIRA, Eleemira Maria de; OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de
This paper addresses the environmental impacts caused by the lack of sanitation, such as the final destination of waste, contamination of the water table, and diseases resulting from poor sanitation in the municipality of Jutaí-AM. A survey was conducted on the daily collection of garbage in Jutaí-AM, as well as an approach to waterborne diseases. It was found that the landfill is located in the urban area, causing degradation to the city's environment. The garbage is dumped in the middle of the city without any treatment, including medical waste, which is disposed of in the same location as domestic waste. The place where the garbage is deposited is frequented daily by various people, including children and the elderly. It is concluded that there is a need for the implementation of alternative actions for the treatment of solid waste, seeking solutions to the problems caused by the lack of adequate treatment of solid waste.

Gestão Ambiental dos Empreendimentos voltados ao Mercado Estético/Cosmético na Área Urbana de Manaus - AM
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) TEIXEIRA, Lúcia Helena de Oliveira Leão; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de Macêdo
The projects focused on the aesthetic and cosmetic market sectors represent one of the most economically developed areas, driven by social, cultural, and technological factors. This study aimed to characterize and identify the most relevant environmental aspects and impacts generated by these enterprises in the urban area of Manaus, proposing attitudes for environmental practices and waste management actions. The research was conducted in small and medium-sized enterprises using questionnaires and observations. The results indicated that negative environmental impacts are related to uncontrolled water consumption, energy inefficiency, generation of liquid effluents, and fragility in solid waste management. It is concluded that control measures involve public and private interests, including adequate sanitation and selective waste collection.

Desafios e Oportunidades do Reuso dos Resíduos da Construção Civil
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) MOREIRA, Luciano Alves; FENZL, Nobert
In Brazil, the construction industry is considered one of the most important activities for economic and social development, but it is also a major generator of environmental impacts, either through the consumption of natural resources, landscape modification, or waste generation. The work presented here aims to verify the feasibility of a solid waste management plan, where the literature review provides a base of information on environmental issues in the construction of buildings, focusing on relevant aspects such as environmental management, the life cycle of buildings, Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) in the urban environment, and relevant legislation.
