Item Hospitais Saudáveis: A Sustentabilidade no Ambiente Hospitalar e o Papel do Enfermeiro Frente a Esse Desafio(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2020) SOUZA, Gizelle Raquel Leão Cavalcante de; OLIVEIRA, Edivaldo H. C. deThe theme of this research is sustainability in the hospital environment. The environment is directly linked to the health-disease process, and there is even legislation specifically directed at so-called hospital waste. The issue of environmental sustainability should be part of the discussions in educational actions in the nursing area, as it encourages current and future professionals to reflect on health promotion in relation to environmental education and sustainability. Therefore, nursing has the duty to engage in this topic of extreme relevance to society. Given this, the objective of this research was to highlight the importance of sustainability in the hospital environment and the role of nurses in facing this challenge in the city of Manaus. In the methodological procedures, a descriptive and bibliographic research modality was used, based on works from 2000 to 2020, with consultations in the Scielo, BVS, Medline, and BDENF databases. As a result, 26 articles were selected for full reading, and after excluding those that did not meet the guiding question of the research, we obtained a total of 19 articles. The authors support the importance of nurses in the process of sustainability in the hospital environment, but despite being responsible for important functions, many are still unaware of the norms of more complex processes, such as the proper separation of hospital waste. It is concluded, therefore, that nurses should play a central role in measures related to hospital sustainability. Based on the results of studies in the area, some health institutions in Brazil, including in Manaus, have already implemented a sustainable policy, mainly through educational measures, implemented from graduation to the professional practice of nurses, considering the fundamental role of these professionals in leading necessary measures to achieve sustainability within the hospital and in the efficient management of sustainable hospitals.Item Educação, Saúde, Meio Ambiente e Sociedade: A Importância da Educação Ambiental para Graduandos de Enfermagem como Responsabilidade Social(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2019) BEZERRA, Andreza Silvia Batista; DEUS, Ricardo Jorge AmorimThe present research sought to answer questions about the importance of the relations between society, education, health and environment, taking into account the process of awareness of Nursing students at Uninassau College, in Manaus city about the theme, through applicability in practice of the subjects studied in the Social Responsibility discipline. Through health promotion, awareness and environmental education projects, their understanding of the environment in which they operate is put into practice, considering that environmental education contributes to the theoretical-methodological solidification in the practice of all that has been addressed about educational actions in environmental health and nursing. After the experiences and the course of the discipline, questionnaires were applied to assess their level of awareness and learning. With the conduction of the research, the responsibility of the nursing professional in relation to the environment was evidenced, and the students and future professionals showed to have knowledge to improve their own and society's awareness. Validating the need to formulate strategies for environmental education throughout society, as well as awareness by health professionals to adopt interdisciplinary practices with the purpose of intervention in environmental problems through environmental education.
