Among emerging technologies, ozonation stands out due to its high efficiency and environmental sustainability. This study analyzes the effectiveness of ozone application in water disinfection in Itajaí/SC, addressing its physicochemical principles, technical-economic feasibility, and environmental impacts. The methodology combined literature review, experimentation, and case study, showing that ozonation is more effective than chlorine, especially against resistant pathogens, and reduces toxic byproducts while providing synergistic effects when combined with other methods. It concludes that ozonation is a viable and sustainable alternative for sanitation, contributing to the improvement of drinking water quality.Item Ozonização como Processo de Desinfecção da Água para Consumo Humano: Eficiência e Sustentabilidade(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2025) FERREIRA, Arthur Joaquim de Araújo; RODRIGUES, Fábio; SILVA, Simone da; Jandecy Cabral LeiteWater disinfection is essential to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms and ensure water safety. This study analyzes the effectiveness and sustainability of ozonation as an alternative method to chlorine in the municipality of Itajaí/SC. The aim is to compare the advantages, limitations, and environmental impacts of ozonation versus conventional processes. The research employed a qualitative approach, including literature review, experimentation, and case study. Results indicated high efficiency of ozone in microorganism inactivation and water quality improvement, proving to be a viable and environmentally sustainable alternative.Item Ozonização como processo de desinfecção da água para consumo humano: eficiência e sustentabilidade(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2025) FERREIRA, Arthur Joaquim de Araújo; RODRIGUES, Fábio; SILVA, Simone da; SILVA, Simone daWater disinfection is crucial to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms and improve water quality for human consumption. This study analyzes the efficacy and sustainability of ozonation as a disinfection method, comparing it with conventional processes such as chlorination. Conducted in the municipality of Itajaí/SC, the research demonstrated that ozonation is more efficient in inactivating bacteria, viruses, and protozoa, while also avoiding the generation of toxic byproducts like trihalomethanes. The study also highlighted the technical feasibility and environmental benefits of ozonation, although it acknowledges challenges such as operational costs and energy consumption.Item Industrial Engineering and Operations Management(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024) JUNIOR, Milton Vieira; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe book published by Springer presents an in-depth approach to industrial engineering and operations management. It brings together several research studies and case studies that explore innovative methodologies, emerging trends and efficient practices in modern industrial environments.Item Elaboração de uma matriz de tomada de decisão, com lógica fuzzy, sobre a adoção de tecnologias 4.0 em uma linha de montagem, por meio de gêmeos digitais, com ênfase na mão de obra humana e sistemas robóticos(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024) MONTEIRO, Manoel de Assis; GUIMARÃES, Gil EduardoThis study presents the design and analysis of a new production line within the Industry 4.0 framework, emphasizing the interaction between human labor and advanced robotic systems. The research employs digital twin simulation to model and compare two production scenarios: a traditional one, operated exclusively by humans, and an automated system integrating collaborative robots (COBOTs). The methodology uses Plant Simulation software to assess key performance indicators such as productivity, operational costs, worker fatigue, safety, and ergonomic impact. The results highlight significant improvements in production efficiency, cost reduction, better working conditions, and enhanced industrial sustainability. Furthermore, the study discusses the social and economic implications of automation, emphasizing the need for workforce reskilling and adaptation to new technological demands. It is concluded that the strategic integration of robotic systems and digital technologies not only enhances industrial competitiveness but also fosters a safer and more ergonomic working environment, aligned with the trends of smart manufacturing.Item Reaproveitamento de resíduos de gesso como contribuição da construção ecológica na cidade de Manaus/AM(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024) MORAES, Rosalina Siqueira; ALENCAR, David Barbosa dePopulation growth and industrial and urban development have contributed to the increase in waste generation, including gypsum. Gypsum is obtained by heating the raw material, gypsum, to approximately 140°C to 160°C, followed by grinding. The speed at which the reaction occurs results in a large amount of material being wasted. Following a modification of CONAMA Resolution No. 307, gypsum became category B, waste that can be recycled or reused, making gypsum waste recycling mandatory and viable. Due to few tax incentives and the high cost involved, construction waste often ends up being deposited in inappropriate locations. This study aims to diagnose the generation of gypsum waste in construction companies in the city of Manaus, evaluate the technical characteristics of recycled gypsum produced on a pilot scale, and propose a new applicability for the ecological construction production chain. The results indicated that recycled gypsum exhibited technical properties comparable to conventional gypsum, reinforcing the feasibility of its reuse in civil construction.Item DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UM APLICATIVO MÓVEL DE RECICLAGEM PARA CIDADE DE MANAUS UTILIZANDO A LINGUAGEM KOTLIN(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024) ALENCAR, David Barbosa de; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThis chapter presents the development of a mobile application to encourage recycling in the city of Manaus, using the Kotlin programming language. The objective was to create a technological solution that facilitates selective collection and promotes environmental awareness. The methodology included analyzing user needs, designing the interface, and implementing the application. The results indicated that the tool can significantly contribute to reverse logistics and proper waste disposal.Item A proteção ambiental como princípio da gestão pública: uma análise sob a perspectiva do direito administrativo(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024) FERREIRA JÚNIOR, Edinaldo Inocêncio; NASCIMENTO, Manoel Henrique ReisEnvironmental protection in public management in the state of Amazonas plays a central role in conserving natural resources and biodiversity, given the global importance of the Amazon region. This study investigated the effectiveness of environmental protection policies implemented in the state, employing a methodological approach based on literature review and document analysis. The objectives included analyzing the application and outcomes of these policies, identifying gaps and challenges in sustainable management, and proposing strategic recommendations to improve practices. Additionally, the cases of the Belo Monte and Balbina hydroelectric plants were examined, highlighting their environmental impacts and implications for public policy formulation in the Amazon region. The findings revealed significant progress but also exposed structural and operational deficiencies, such as ineffective enforcement and poor coordination across governance levels. The proposed recommendations aim to align economic development with environmental preservation, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable public management framework. This research also emphasizes the importance of multidisciplinary and participatory approaches to addressing socio-environmental challenges, ensuring a sustainable future for the Amazon and its populations. Moreover, it offers valuable insights that may serve as a reference for other regions facing similar environmental challenges.Item Sistema fotovoltaico no aeroporto internacional de Manaus: Análise da viabilidade técnica, econômica e ambiental de implantação usando simulação computacional(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2020) FONTINELLE, Carlos Gomes; SILVA, Simone daThe study analyzes the feasibility of implementing a photovoltaic system at the Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus.
