A Comunicação entre os Setores de uma Empresa como Principal Ferramenta da Qualidade na Produção Enxuta
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2020) BASTOS, Riomar Martins; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
The need to improve service to end customers and suppliers at a multinational in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, due to the low performance of its main KPI (Key Performance Indicator) OTD (On Time Delivery), which fluctuated at 56%, motivated this work. The objective was to raise this index to 92%. The methodology applied was centered on the philosophy of lean production and quality tools, with a survey of the main problems that negatively impacted the main KPI. The results pointed to communication between sectors as the main problem, and with the support of the board and the application of continuous improvement, it was possible to raise the KPI OTD to 92%, currently achieving a delivery rate of 99%.

Aplicação do Método Schumacher como Alternativa para Calibração e Validação de Torquímetros no Processo de Montagem de Motocicletas
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018) BRANDÃO, Leonize Thomé de Souza; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
This case study analyzes the calibration and validation process of torque wrenches in a motorcycle assembly plant. Torque wrenches are validated within a short period under strict parameters to ensure compliance, requiring time availability and, in some cases, new equipment. The objective is to optimize this process, making it more efficient and reducing costs without compromising product quality. As an improvement alternative, this study proposes the reformulation of calibration periodicity using the Schumacher Method and reassessment of the approval and rejection parameters. The study followed the implementation of these improvements over six months, demonstrating positive results in reducing process time and increasing the efficiency of torque inspections.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) SABINO, Artemizia Rodrigues; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques; SOUZA, José Antônio da Silva
The red ceramic industry in the state of Amazonas has its main production hub in the city of Iranduba and the metropolitan region of Manaus, with increasing annual demand. The municipality of Tabatinga, despite having few records in the regional industry, has been gaining prominence in the local economy through the production of ceramic bricks, impacting housing quality and generating jobs. This study analyzes the physicochemical properties of the clays used in the manufacture of blocks and tiles, aiming to obtain an optimal composition to enhance the quality of ceramic products. Test specimens were produced with different proportions of white and red clay and subjected to tests for water absorption, porosity, and mechanical resistance. The results showed that the final strength of the material is directly related to the plasticity of the red clay, resulting in a product with a strength exceeding 20 MPa, as required by the ABNT NBR 6220/1997 standard.
