This research aimed to evaluate the water quality treatment processes of SAAE and seven artesian wells in Cacoal, according to legislation on potability and control. Laboratory analyses (microbiological and physicochemical) were conducted over seven months. Results showed that most artesian wells do not provide water suitable for human consumption due to E. coli and total coliform contamination. The SAAE-treated water presented inadequate pH values, requiring adjustments. The study highlights the need for public policies for continuous monitoring of well water.
