This study is based on the premise of recurrent reports on environmental degradation caused by human actions. It analyzes whether the reasons leading the Campus Manaus Industrial District (CMDI) community members to act in an environmentally correct manner are based on principles capable of fostering a sustainable society. Using a qualitative and descriptive methodology, the research identified that the motivation for these actions is related to both extrinsic and intrinsic factors, highlighting the importance of understanding these reasons to promote environmentally responsible practices.
