The present work shows a method to reduce cooling time in the expanded polystyrene production process through an on-site study in a large PIM manufacturer. Using management tools like brainstorming, benchmarking, and Ishikawa, the cooling tower was identified as a weak point. By replacing conventional PVC grids with air conditioning evaporators without gas, cooling time and production time were significantly reduced, increasing productivity.
