The present study aims to present the use of fuzzy logic to reduce the subjectivity of options and judgments in maintenance management in automated production processes, focusing on the occurrence of welding failures (SMD). For this purpose, an exploratory and descriptive case study was adopted, analyzing data collected between January 2015 and January 2016. The research employed tools such as the Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Diagram, and Variable Control Chart to highlight the main defects. It was concluded that after system modeling and applying fuzzy logic concepts, there was a significant reduction in failures, greater understanding of phenomena, and effective solutions to avoid recurrences
