Análise da Aplicação da Metodologia PDCA nas Escolas Municipais Rurais de Manaus Visando ao Melhor Desempenho dos Alunos no IDEB
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) HENCHEN, Anne Kellyn; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro Barros
The research analyzed the application of the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology in six rural municipal schools in Manaus, aiming to improve student performance in the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB). The study focused on the environmental conditions of the schools and their influence on the teaching-learning process, using environmental diagnostic tools from the Áquila Institute. The results indicated that schools with adequate infrastructure performed better in external assessments, such as the Prova Brasil and the Student Performance Assessment (ADE). The research concluded that it is necessary to meet goal 7.18 of the National Education Plan to ensure an adequate school environment, especially in rural areas.

The Ideb, launched in 2005, is an educational indicator that links school performance with student performance, through data collected by Prova Brasil and Saeb. The national target for 2021 is to achieve an average of 6.0 in the Ideb, considering the initial years of elementary school. The state of Roraima achieved the Ideb objectives only in 2007 and 2009. This study presents a statistical analysis of student performance in the Ideb from 2005 to 2017 in fifteen municipalities of Roraima, using simple and multiple linear regression models to propose improvements in the state's public education system.
