Programação Linear: Um Estudo de Caso sobre a Manutenção e o Estoque Ótimo de uma Organização Aérea
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) PESSOA, Alexandra Priscila Costa; MAGNO, Rui Nelson Otoni
Linear Programming (LP) was applied in stock control of spare parts for an aerial organization, aiming to identify optimal quantities based on financial resource availability. The goal was to reduce costs and improve control, considering minimum, maximum, and current inventory levels. The developed model, using the Solver tool, resulted in savings of R$ 1,044,088.20 by optimizing inventory compared to the established maximum stock. The case study was conducted in an Aerial Organization located in Manaus, Amazonas.

Otimização do Tempo de Descarga de Vagões Tanque em Terminal de Distribuição de Combustíveis
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) SILVA, Jhonatan Ferreira da; QUARESMA, João Nazareno Nonato
The study focuses on optimizing the discharge time of fuel from tank wagons in a distribution terminal, aiming to enhance operational efficiency within a predefined time frame. Hydraulic systems were analyzed, centrifugal pumps and pipelines were sized, and a calculation spreadsheet based on the Darcy-Weisbach formula for head loss was developed. The proposed solution significantly increased the discharged volume, meeting the terminal's demands.

Otimização Multicritério Para Despacho Econômico e Ambiental de Usinas Térmicas Utilizando Enxame de Partículas
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) AZEVEDO, Raimundo Edney dos Santos; BEZERRA, Ubiratan Holanda
One of the main objectives in the generation of electricity in thermal systems is to minimize fuel consumption through optimal allocation of power generation for each generating unit via the economic dispatch, maintaining pollutant emissions within the limits of environmental licensing, whose integrated solution is subject to a set of equality and inequality constraints. Due to environmental concerns that were developed from the emissions produced by power plants that use fossil fuels, the economic dispatch that minimizes only the total fuel cost can no longer be considered a suitable option of dispatch. This paper therefore proposes a strategy based on mathematical models to solve the problem of load dispatch considering the economic problems and the emission of pollutants, whose premises are combined into an objective function and several electrical and emission constraints using the LabView software environment. The results achieved with the application of the procedures proposed here to a thermal power plant in the city of Manaus-AM appear quite positive towards providing dispatch solutions that proved sustainable with regard to the economic and environmental aspects considered.

Aplicação da Extrapolação de Richardson na Otimização de Problemas em Fluidodinâmica Computacional
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2020) SANTOS, Alexandre Marcus Madeira; MAGNO, Rui Nelson Otoni
The present work aims to investigate the application of the Richardson Extrapolation (ER) method as an alternative to reduce the simulation time of a specific CFD problem, which is related to a convective and diffusive problem. The geometry under study was built in the Blender software. The initial and boundary conditions were set using the BlenderFDS program, the calculation was done with a CFD code called Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), the results were extracted with Smokeview software. In addition, Richardson extrapolation code was developed in the Fortran programming language. Flow field properties such as specific mass, pressure, temperature and velocity were calculated for three mesh sizes with and without the RE method. The extrapolated results show promise for maintaining accuracy at a lower computational cost.

Uma Abordagem Heurística para os Problemas de Horários Educacionais
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2020) REIS, Williams Sousa dos; QUARESMA, João Nazareno Nonato
Educational institutions face the challenge of scheduling class timetables every new academic term, a complex problem in computational complexity theory. This study proposes a tool to automate the scheduling process at the Institute of Biodiversity and Forests (IBEF) of the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA) using a genetic algorithm. Experiments with real data demonstrated that the approach satisfactorily meets the problem’s constraints within an acceptable computational time, bringing advantages such as reduced scheduling time and better allocation of physical and human resources.

Otimização do Teste de Vazamento em Unidades Evaporadoras no Processo de Produção de Condicionadores de Ar
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2020) CORRÊA, Daniel Amorim; OLIVEIRA, Kleber Bittencourt
The manufacture of air conditioners requires detailed inspections due to the risk of refrigerant fluid leakage, which can cause environmental damage and product losses. This work proposes the optimization of the leakage test in evaporating units through automation, aiming to reduce nitrogen consumption, improve operator ergonomics, and increase productivity. The developed automated system allows precise gas control, cost reduction, and process time standardization, contributing to the quality of the final product.

Otimização do Tempo de Teste Funcional de Placa de Circuito Impresso Montada para Computador Pessoal
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) OLIVEIRA, Edson Farias de; BLANCO, Claudio José Cavalcante
Increased competitiveness among the peer group has become increasingly important to the constant optimization of processes to consequently reduce manufacturing costs. The objective of this study is to assess the time involved in the functional testing phase of MBs produced in a company of the Industrial Pole of Manaus and propose improvements that lead to optimization of this phase. The actions taken with respect to optimizations led to the development system for capturing images to improve the analysis of downtimes and development of devices for testing, as well as the proprietary test system based on Linux to replace the previous system which relied of foreign partners. The percentage gains in the project was presented in four optimization proposals, the first being with the unification of the tests, the second with the test being performed on two board, the third with the replacement of the previous test by the system owner and end automation of the test device, which was demonstrated gains in each of the proposals. The results obtained after implementation of each proposal were positive and reinforce the need to apply scientific methods combined with creativity to achieve the optimization at any stage of the production process.

OTIMIZAÇÃO DO TEMPO DE TESTE FUNCIONAL DE PLACA DE CIRCUITO IMPRESSO MONTADA PARA COMPUTADOR PESSOAL
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) OLIVEIRA, Edson Farias de; BLANCO, Cláudio José Cavalcante
The increasing competitiveness among companies in the same sector has made continuous process optimization essential to reduce costs. This study evaluates the time involved in the functional testing phase of motherboards produced in the Industrial Pole of Manaus and proposes improvements for optimization. A system for image capture was developed to analyze idle times, along with test devices and a proprietary Linux-based test system, replacing the previous system that depended on foreign suppliers. Percentage gains were demonstrated through four optimization proposals: unifying tests, performing simultaneous tests on two boards, replacing the test system, and automating the test device. The results obtained after implementing these improvements were positive, reinforcing the importance of applying scientific methodologies combined with innovation to optimize production processes.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) SANTOS, Eliton Smith dos; QUARESMA, João Nazareno Nonato
Currently, there are numerous automated production processes that are becoming increasingly complex due to the demands of the modern world. These processes require increasingly powerful engineering tools for efficient modeling and analysis. In this context, the computational tool Tecnomatix Plant Simulation 9.0 emerges as a means of optimizing industrial production. This study presents the application of this tool in modeling and simulating a production line, highlighting its relevance for production management by reducing costs and maximizing profits. The approach is demonstrated through a case study in the electronics industry, analyzing process efficiency and proposing improvements for time and resource optimization.
