Item Avaliação da Qualidade do Processo de Tratamento de Água em Cacoal: Uma Comparação Entre as Águas dos Poços Artesianos e as Distribuídas pelo SAAE(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2019) ALVES, Antônio Luciano Volpato; CUNHA, Edinaldo José de SousaThis research aimed to evaluate the water quality treatment processes of SAAE and seven artesian wells in Cacoal, according to legislation on potability and control. Laboratory analyses (microbiological and physicochemical) were conducted over seven months. Results showed that most artesian wells do not provide water suitable for human consumption due to E. coli and total coliform contamination. The SAAE-treated water presented inadequate pH values, requiring adjustments. The study highlights the need for public policies for continuous monitoring of well water.Item O Potencial de Captação e Abastecimento de Água Pluvial na Comunidade Vila de Lindóia – Município de Itacoatiara(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) SILVA, Marcos Maurício Costa da; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes RodriguesThis research deals with the survey of the potential for rainwater harvesting and supply for domestic use in the Vila de Lindóia Community, in the Municipality of Itacoatiara, Amazonas. The study aims to assess the feasibility of using rainwater for potable purposes, discarding the first flush, to reduce the number of people without access to quality water. Socioeconomic surveys were conducted in 15 households, analyzing water supply methods and the acceptance of the proposal. The results indicate that the use of rainwater, even partially, is viable and can contribute to reducing waterborne diseases and promoting environmental sustainability.Item Implantação de um Sistema Automático para Supervisão do Abastecimento de Água no Processo de Injeção Plástica: Estudo de caso em uma empresa do Polo Industrial de Manaus(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2019) RAMOS, Denis Alexandre; CUNHA, Edinaldo de SousaThis work presents the development of a project focused on the automatic supervision process through a supervisory system dedicated to the water supply in the plastic injection area in a factory environment. The purpose of the project is to avoid lack of water in the plastic injection process. The process engineering concepts employed here are intended to visualize the entire process, identify the problem and its root cause, and propose solutions to eliminate constant occurrences of water shortages. The study of the problem occurs in a factory environment that we can describe as follows: the employee is responsible for manually monitoring the tanks, but performs other activities in parallel, thus the manual monitoring applied is totally ineffective generating several impacting occurrences: unavailability machine costs, rising costs, not meeting goals, compromising the performance of the organization. It is necessary to implement this project because it reduces human interference, minimizes errors, ensures the supervision of the entire water supply system in real time, anticipates decision making in case of any problems with the pumps. As a result of this research, we concluded that with this project, we eliminated 100% downtime of machine injectors due to lack of water, increasing process reliability and reducing total waste of 25.8 tons of raw material per year.Item Estudo de Caso do Abastecimento d’Água do Município de Santarém no Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) ANDRADE, Elen Conceição Leal de; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes RodriguesThis work deals with the water supply in the city of Santarém / PA and the various factors that directly affect the population in terms of resource utilization. The overall objective was to evaluate the use of water in the supply sector, quantifying and qualifying the various forms of use, thus contributing to sustainability indicators. Currently the city is supplied by the Pará Sanitation Company COSANPA and by the Municipal Supply - SEMAB. The research was divided into three stages: literature review, field survey, and analysis of results. It is concluded that knowledge of the results of this study may contribute to the design and development of similar future projects, with the aim of improving the water supply of the city of Santarém and the consequent satisfaction of the local population.Item ESTUDO DE CASO DO ABASTECIMENTO D’ÁGUA DO MUNICÍPIO DE SANTARÉM NO PARÁ(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) ANDRADE, Elen Conceição Leal de; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes RodriguesThis work addresses the water supply in the municipality of Santarém, Pará, and the various factors that directly affect the population's use of this resource. The main objective was to assess water usage in the supply sector, quantifying and qualifying its various forms to contribute to sustainability indicators. Currently, the municipality is supplied by the Pará Sanitation Company (COSANPA) and the Municipal Supply Secretariat (SEMAB). The research was conducted in three stages: literature review, field survey, and result analysis. Findings indicated that most of the population does not waste water, although the absence of water meters makes accurate consumption measurement difficult. Water quality was rated as average by 21.57% of respondents, while 33% reported frequent water shortages, leading part of the population to rely on private wells. The study concludes that understanding these findings can contribute to future projects aimed at improving water supply in the municipality.
