Science and Modernity: A Critical Needs:
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) MARQUES, Dorli João Carlos; MARQUES, Iracelma Magalhães da Costa; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
Modern science, rooted in positivist foundations, lacks sufficient epistemological and methodological support for a comprehensive understanding of man, the world, and society. Drawing on the theories of Habermas, Marcuse, Heidegger, Adorno, Horkheimer, and Boaventura de Sousa Santos, the article critiques the limitations of modern science and proposes an alternative epistemological approach grounded in emancipatory knowledge that values marginalized ways of knowing.

Educação Ambiental no Currículo do Curso de Licenciatura Intercultural Indígena do Instituto Insikiran/UFRR
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) SANTOS, Larisse Livramento dos; ALVES, Cláudio Nahum
The research analyzed how Environmental Education (EE) is integrated into the curriculum of the Indigenous Intercultural Licentiate course at Insikiran Institute/UFRR, through the analysis of the Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) and the Course Conclusion Works (TCC) produced between 2008 and 2014. The qualitative study identified that EE is present as an intercultural element, with a transdisciplinary and holistic approach, focused on indigenous culture and scientific development. Advances in the inclusion of EE in the curriculum were observed, but challenges remain, such as the lack of academic productions on sustainability and technology. The interculturality of the students fosters the exchange of knowledge, transforming empirical knowledge into scientific knowledge. It is concluded that there is a need for greater integration of EE into the curriculum, with a focus on public policies and university management.
